This workshop provides an introduction to mental skills training for athletes. Participants will learn how an athlete's state of mind can positively or negatively impact performance. Several strategies for enhancing specific mental skills will be demonstrated.

The Pressure Cooker: Keys to Performing Under Pressure

One of the primary reasons athletes seek consultation is because they feel that they are underperforming - performance in game or race situations is not on level with training or practice performances. In this workshop, we will examine the specific skills and strategies that athletes need to execute in critical competition moments to achieve success. Pre-competition routines, intensity regulation, performance adjustments, and relaxation/readiness protocols will be examined.

Top 5 Mental Skills of Successful Athletes

Participants in this workshop will focus on five crucial skills required for successful athletic performance: Goal-setting, Motivation, Focus/concentration, Intensity Regulation, and Performance Mistakes. Participants will assess how they are currently functioning in each of these areas and learn specific techniques and exercises for sharpening these 5 critical skills.

Mind Over Marathon

The marathon is a physically and mentally demanding event. A runner's mind needs to be as well-trained as his or her body, so that come race day, all of that hard work and dedication can be realized on the course. This workshop examines the mental skills and strategies utilized by successful marathoners including: goal-setting & commitment, motivation, concentration, pain management, intensity regulation, and visual imagery and rehearsal.

Tri 101

The endurance, multi-sport of triathlon has enjoyed a huge increase in popularity over the last decade. Athletes new to the sport quickly realize the strong mental aspect of this exciting and challenging event. Tri 101 is a workshop intended for the novice triathlete and covers the following topics: training consistency, preparing for the open water swim, pre-competition anxiety, how to transition smoothly, attention control, and intensity regulation.

Gaining the Mental Edge in Golf

Mental skills and techniques specific to the game of golf are the focus of this workshop. Participants will be guided through an assessment of their current skills and learn new techniques for sharpening their mental game strategy. Each golfer will leave the workshop with an individualized pre-stroke routine and game day strategy.

The Psychology of Sports Injury & Rehab

This workshop is intended primarily for physical therapists, practitioners of sports medicine, and personal trainers. Participants will learn about the psychological aspects of dealing with injury and how to prepare injured athletes for the rehabilitation process and re-entry back into competition.

100% Performance

This is a multi-disciplinary workshop offered by a panel of practitioners: sport psychologist, personal trainer, massage therapist, and sports nutritionist. Promoting a comprehensive or holistic approach to athletic performance, the workshop will demonstrate how a strong and well-trained mind and body work in synergy to achieve peak performance.
